Mobile Communication Centers (MCC) delivered to the Polish Armed Forces
Wojskowe Zakłady Łączności Nr 1 S.A. has delivered the first units of Mobile Communication Centers (MCC) to the Polish Armed Forces, performing the contract signed on 30th November 2021 with the then Armament Inspectorate. The contract, worth over PLN 232 million, was a part of the first phase of the Polish Armed Forces' WISŁA programme to acquire Medium Range Air and Missile Defence Systems. Under the contract, WZŁ-1 S.A. has delivered four MCCs, which are an integral part of the WISŁA system, dedicated to securing communications at the tactical level.
The delivery of the Mobile Communication Centers was preceded by a complex, multi-step design and technological process. I would like to thank the entire WZŁ-1 S.A.’s team for their commitment. Each department has made a significant contribution to the creation of this solution, which is now being delivered to the Polish Armed Forces, said Sławomir Obszyński, President of the Management Board of WZŁ-1 S.A. The MCC project has opened up space for further development of the company's competences. The production and delivery of MCCs confirms that WZŁ-1 S.A. remains one of the key suppliers of advanced communication systems for the Polish Armed Forces. This is evidenced by the record contract for the delivery of 56 Mobile Communication Centers for the second phase of the WISŁA Programme, signed at the end of September 2025, he added.
THE PATH TO THE PROJECT’S EXECUTION
Working on the MCC the company deployed cutting-edge solutions in the field of transmission and ICT systems and mast construction and made use of its experience gained over many years, among others during the development of Mobile Digital Communication Centers (RWŁC). The project has opened up new opportunities for cooperation and further development for the entire Polish Armament Group, strengthening national competences in the field of modern communications systems for military use.
WHAT IS THE MOBILE COMMUNICATION CENTER (MCC)?
The Mobile Communication Center is an advanced, modern mobile communication station based on Jelcz P112.57 vehicles, equipped with a lattice mast and integrated ICT systems. It ensures high quality and reliability of voice and data transmission, automatically compensating for changing signal propagation conditions. The system is characterised by high energy autonomy based on the vehicle, redundant generators and combustion power systems. Thanks to maximum automation, including antenna mast setup, MCC ensures prompt achievement of operational readiness.
Mobile Communication Centers can serve as access points for wired and wireless networks, provide point-to-point, point-to-multipoint and full-mesh connections and cooperate with systems used by the Polish Armed Forces and NATO countries. Mobility and resistance to demanding field conditions are ensured by a special five-axle chassis, while the safety of the crew is guaranteed by certified armoured cabin.
COMPATIBILITY WITH OTHER SYSTEMS
MCCs have been designed to meet the requirements of the Polish Armed Forces. They constitute a key point of contact between the IBCS command and control system and national command systems. MCCs meet the highest standards of the modern battlefield, guaranteeing interoperability and full adaptation to the network-centered operating environment. It means that WZŁ-1 S.A. provides the Polish Armed Forces with modern and reliable solutions in air defence, missile defence and command and communication systems.
The project was executed in cooperation with key companies of the Polish Armament Group (JELCZ Sp. z o.o., OBR CTM S.A., PIT-RADWAR S.A., WZE S.A., OBRUM Sp. z o.o.) and the Polish private sector. It is an example of effective partnership for the development of modern technologies in Poland.
