WZŁ-1 S.A. has delivered the first Transmission Communication Centers to the Polish Armed Forces
Wojskowe Zakłady Łączności Nr 1 S.A. has delivered the first units of Transmission Communication Centers to the Polish Armed Forces, completing one of the stages of the contract signed during the International Defence Industry Exhibition in Kielce on 6th September 2022, which is worth over PLN 880 million and provides for the delivery of 43 units together with a training and logistics package. TCC is a new-generation solution based on the concept and experience gained during the development of our flagship product RWŁC-10/T, with significantly greater transmission capabilities and full compatibility with the command systems within the Wisła and Narew programmes.
THE PROCESS THAT HAS LED TO THIS
The delivery of the first TCCs is the result of a multi-step design, testing and organisational process involving many teams of WZŁ-1 S.A. One of its key elements was intensive training of the users, which took place at our facility. To date, we have trained 11 crews and 3 trainers. The training covered the characteristics and purpose of the TCC, structure and operation of all devices, setup for operation in various scenarios, and its practical part consisted in the operation of the masts. The classes were conducted by WZŁ-1 S.A. experts with the support of representatives of other companies. The training ended with an exam and issuance of a certificate confirming the users’ readiness to use the TCC under field conditions.
WHAT IS THE TRANSMISSION COMMUNICATION CENTER?
TCC is an advanced device providing transmission between command communication nodes in the backbone of the Polish Armed Forces' ICT network. It can operate as a link to the backbone network using radio link, radio and fibre optic cables. TCC is mounted on a Jelcz truck chassis and the truck itself is equipped an armoured four-person cabin, ensuring a high level of safety for the crew.
Its key element is a lattice mast with antenna systems enabling the creation of broadband radio connections over long distances. The TCC’s transmission capabilities significantly exceed those of the previous model RWŁC-10/T. TCC enables the establishment of wireless communication between the backbone nodes of the mobile ICT system, as well as fast and efficient high-bandwidth data transmission and cable and radio communication with access nodes at all command levels. The new device is compatible with the Polish and allies’ systems which ensures full interoperability. Thus, it meets the requirements of today's dynamic battlefield environment.
